Hodzeko Arts and Culture Association (HACA) has announced the news board members chosen at its 3rd Annual General Meeting on 13 march 2023.
The board is set to steer the organisation toward a sound future by ensuring it fulfil its mission in the most effective way possible.
Dumisani Ndlovu who held the Information and Communications Manager’s position since the establishment of the organisation in 2018 announced new HACA Board on its website.
Mr Ndlovu disclosed that the new board is composed of professionals who will be expected to provide a different approach in addressing the challenges faced one of Midlands’ biggest arts organisation
The new HACA board will comprise of Ireen Kumundati, Belinder Musesemwa, Rutendo Madanhire, Charity Mutsure and Pasca Manhivi members who will be chaired by Mavis Koslek.
Mr Ndlovu disclosed that as a catalyst for change, Hodzeko Arts created the disability inclusive office position in a bid to leave no-one and no place behind and has stated that a lot of progress has been made to ensure that the organisation becomes the arts hub in the region in the next three years.
“I would like to appreciate the old board members and its affiliates for embracing the arts from the perspective of Disability Arts, which has now become a recognised cultural genre in promoting the lived experience of disability. This work has relevance not only for disabled or Deaf people, it is increasingly attracting interest from wider audiences of all ages,”he said.
Ndlovu hinted on the intended disability rights promoting projects that he said are in the pipeline.
HACA whose core business was to promote arts and culture in Zimbabwe, steadily broadened its agenda in line with international thinking of encompassing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), involving the three interlinked pillars of economic growth, ecological balance and social progress, with key focus on raising awareness on different human and people’s rights issues, change mind-sets, attitudes, beliefs and practices. Currently HACA has a compliment of 150 affiliates across the province and has long term vision of expanding its operations nationally, regionally and internationally.
