ZIMBABWE INTERNATIONAL DISABILITY INCLUSIVE ARTS FESTIVAL (ZIDIACF) DEFINED
Zimbabwe International Disability Inclusive Arts Festival (ZIDIAC) is an annual arts festival designed to inspire moderate to severe People with Disabilities (PWDs) of all ages through training in the visual and performing arts, cultivating avenues of self-expression, personal achievement and life enrichment that come with mastering art techniques. The festival programs work will be produced as part of the Zimbabwe International Disability Inclusive Arts and Culture Festival, facilitated by Hodzeko Arts and Culture Association alongside other work by leading artists with and without disabilities. It will feature Visual and Performing Arts that is performances, exhibitions and symposiums. The festival predominantly showcases Zimbabwean, continental and International artists with and without disabilities in collaboration with the following PWD Organizations: Amor Zimbabwe Trust, Nation Council for Disabled Persons of Zimbabwe (NCDPZ), Murombo Munhu Association, Zvishavane Mberengwa Disability Organization and Midlands State University Disability Resource Centre. Festival Highlights – Multi-disciplinary arts performances (dance, theater, music, circus, spoken word, and visual arts) – Exhibitions, talks, and workshops – National and international representation from Disability Organisations (DPOs), artists with disabilities, and able-bodied – Training programs for upcoming artists and academics on effectively articulating PWD issues – Celebrating Zimbabwean culture and heritage, with a focus on inclusivity and diversity Our vision is to create a society where everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of abilities or characteristics.

Mrs Mabandla’s academic foundation was laid at Gweru Teachers’ College, where she earned her teaching credentials. She later expanded her expertise in mental health, completing her training as a Registered Mental Health Nurse at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham University, in the United Kingdom. With a distinguished career spanning multiple sectors, Mrs Mabandla has established herself as a dedicated educator and healthcare professional. Her teaching experience includes lecturing positions at various teachers’ colleges in Zimbabwe, including ZINTECH College and Mkoba Teachers College. Her expertise in mental health has been invaluable in her work with diverse populations. Mrs Mabandla’s association with ZIDIAC began as a key sponsor, where she provided critical support for the organization’s initiatives. Her commitment and expertise soon led to her appointment as International Relations Coordinator, a role in which she has been instrumental in fostering global partnerships and promoting ZIDIAC’s mission. As a respected figure in her fields of expertise, Mrs Mabandla continues to inspire and empower individuals and disability communities through her work with ZIDIAC and beyond.

Dumisani Ndlovu is a dynamic and innovative creative arts director, media practitioner, communications executive, and public policy analyst, whose diverse skill set and extensive experience have made a significant impact across various sectors. As the founder of the Zimbabwe International Disability Inclusive Arts and Culture Festival (ZIDIAC Fest), Dumisani has been at the forefront of promoting disability inclusion and ensuring that the arts remain accessible to all. His commitment to advocacy for marginalized communities is reflected in his tireless efforts to create platforms that celebrate diversity and foster artistic expression. With a solid foundation in journalism, Dumisani has made substantial contributions to numerous media houses, including The Zimbabwean and The Times. Currently, he serves as a writer for Hericom Media, where his keen insights cover a broad spectrum of topics, from arts and development to humanitarian issues, court proceedings, crime, politics, and environmental news. His multifaceted background allows him to approach storytelling with depth and nuance, making him a respected voice in the media landscape. Dumisani’s academic credentials include a BSc Honours degree in Media and Society Studies, complemented by a graduate program in advocacy from the SIVIO Institute, which bolsters his analytical capabilities in public policy. Dr. Chief Ngungumbane is a trailblazing traditional leader from Mberengwa, Zimbabwe, who has made history by becoming one of the few traditional leaders to hold five degrees. His impressive academic achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy in Peace and Governance, four degrees from Zimbabwe Open University (including Psychology and Peace Leadership), and a law degree from the University of South Africa (Unisa). As a senator and chairperson of the Provincial Assembly of Chiefs, Dr. Chief Ngungumbane has demonstrated exceptional leadership, promoting peace, unity, and conflict resolution. His commitment to inclusivity and disability support is evident in his role on the Zimbabwe International Disability Arts and Culture Festival (ZIDIAC) Advisory Council. Honourable Annah Shiri is a highly esteemed disability rights champion, philanthropist, and leader who has made a significant impact globally. Despite her own disability, she has tirelessly advocated for the rights of people with disabilities, inspiring countless individuals. Professor Vongai. Z. Nyawo
Professor Vongai Z. Nyawo is a renowned academic and researcher currently serving as the Director of Postgraduate Studies and Publications at Great Zimbabwe University. Her extensive experience includes: – Professor of History at Midlands State University (2010-2020) – Doctorate (PhD) in land reform in independent Zimbabwe and South Africa – Research expertise in: – Land reform – Gender – Reconciliation – Governance – Food security – Climate change – Sustainable development – Community engagement – African literature – Published numerous papers and presented at international conferences – Qualifications: – BA General (University of Zimbabwe) – PGDE (Zimbabwe Open University) – MA (University of the Free State) – PhD (University of the Free State) Professor Nyawo’s research focuses on critical issues affecting Africa, making her a valuable asset to the academic community.

Albert Mhaka is a seasoned legal practitioner with 31 years of experience in Zimbabwe and Botswana. His expertise encompasses litigation, legal practice management, training, and alternative dispute resolution. Mhaka has held various roles, including Magistrate (Ministry of Justice, Zimbabwe), Principal Partner (Mhaka Attorneys, Gaborone, Botswana), and Advisory Council member (Gweru Teacher’s College and ZIDIAC Festival). He has also served on the boards of various charitable organizations. His areas of interest include Labour Law, Commercial Law, Property Law, Banking Law, Family Law, Administrative Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mhaka holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe (1989).
PROPHETESS EMILY CHIVASA
Prophetess Emily Chivasa is a revered Zimbabwean religious leader and philanthropist, dedicating her life to spreading love, unity, hope, and charity alongside her husband, Prophet Luke Chivasa, at the Miracle Mission Church of All Nations (MMCN). Her selfless efforts have positively impacted thousands of lives in Zimbabwe. As a spiritual leader, Prophetess Chivasa is committed to interceding for women in society, uplifting countless lives through her prayers and charitable endeavors. With humility and discretion, she supports vulnerable communities, including hosting annual birthday celebrations for homeless children and donating essential items to those in need. Her philanthropic work also extends to empowering widows and orphans, and providing educational support to underprivileged students. Prophetess Chivasa’s deep faith and commitment to Spiritual Motherhood and Prayer have made a profound impact on the community. Her involvement with the Zimbabwe International Disability Inclusive Arts and Culture Festival (ZIDIAC) aims to promote love, acceptance, and empowerment for all, bringing spiritual flair to the event and supporting the inclusion and celebration of diverse

Elvis Musirinofa is a dedicated Human Resources professional and humanitarian worker, passionate about promoting the rights and welfare of People With Disabilities (PWDs) and other vulnerable groups. He founded Amor Zimbabwe Trust, a non-profit organization focused on transforming the lives of PWDs through Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness and Advocacy. As a seasoned HR practitioner, Musirinofa possesses expertise in: – Strategic Management – Recruitment and selection – Performance Management – Training and Development – Labour Law interpretation – Policy formulation – Succession planning – Disciplinary handling He has implemented various disability empowerment projects and authored articles advocating for disability rights, including: – “Inclusion is a possible solution for people with disabilities” – “Christ-like communication as another road to disability inclusion” – “Disability rights, privileges, and responsibilities, bridging the gap between the three” Musirinofa’s passion and expertise make him a valuable asset in promoting the welfare and rights of PWDs and other vulnerable groups.
